Rexygen studio frozen on windows 10
-
Hello,
I had been using rexygen (2.50.8...) on a windows 10 PC without problems, but following a recent windows update it stopped working, when starting the application I see the main window but it is totally frozen, I cannot click on any menu items / move the window or close the application. I need to kill it with task manager.I tried deleting the application and reinstalling the latest version (2.50.10...) but the problem remains.
Windows error log shows:
RexDraw.exe 2.50.10.12481 17c 01d6f170141e8043 4294967295 C:\Program Files\REX Controls\REXYGEN 2.50.10.12481\Bin\RexDraw.exe e35137ff-b9a7-4542-8af7-b39119d4e905 Top level window is idle 54006F00700020006C006500760065006C002000770069006E0064006F0077002000690073002000690064006C00650000000000
Rexygen Diagnostics works with out any issues
I have windows 10 build 19041.746, experience build 120.2212.5510Any ideas??

In case it helps anyone else, I eventually found the problem.
Under normal conditions, when Rexygen studio is started you get a dialog box asking whether you want to create a new file or open an existing one: In my case that dialog box was not displayed and the main window was frozen. While trying different things, instead of opening the program directly, I tried double-clicking on an existing MDL file, the program opened and functioned normally.
I then closed the program and reopened it and this time I got the dialog box and now it works perfectly.
I can only assume that for some reason Windows was placing the dialog box behind the main window, as the main window is blocked until the dialog box is closed you cannot move or minimise it to expose the dialog box, somehow opening an existing MDL file directly unblocked this situation.

Hi Steve,
thank you for sharing the bug report and workaround. There is already completely new version of the REXYGEN Studio under Alpha testing which won't include this issue.
Thank you for patience. We can include you in Beta testing program if you want - just let me know.
Kind Regards,
Tomas
