      • Completely rewritten Studio is now also available on Linux.
      • Added functionality to install runtime directly from the Studio.
      • Static runtime binaries that run on any Linux on ARM and Intel (64-bit and 32-bit).
      • Added support for new architectures and platforms.
      • Added new I/O drivers for platforms and communications.
      • New function blocks and improvements of existing ones.
      • Many other improvements and bug fixes.

      A detailed list of fixes and new features is available in the release notes.

      Please read the installation instructions for supported platforms.

      🔧 Installation Options:

      To accommodate diverse user preferences, we provide two installation options for REXYGEN:

      1️⃣ Manual Package Installation: If you prefer manual installation, you can download the necessary packages from our website. Follow the instructions here: https://download.rexcontrols.cz/partner/testing/ - just choose the proper Linux distribution. It will enable you to integrate REXYGEN seamlessly into your existing setup.

      2️⃣ Ready-to-Use OS Image Files: For users utilizing Monarco HAT or UniPi Patron hardware, we offer ready-to-use OS image files. These files are preconfigured with the latest version of REXYGEN and provide a hassle-free setup experience. Simply flash the image onto your device, and you'll be up and running in no time.

              A few days into using it now, love it. No issues so far.

                In the release notes "REXYGEN 3.0.0-beta" there is mentioned that EtherCAT Communication Driver's
                Jitter and latency are reduced with the added support for XPD on Linux.

                Does this mean we can use EtherCAT now? I am asking because I have a huge interest in using my RasPi with Rexygen in combination with two IO-EtherCAT modules.

                  @Scoobsalamander Hi Kris, thanks for your question!

                  We are still missing the converter from EtherCAT XML files to our driver which is crucial for EtherCAT setup. Do you have any EtherCAT IO modules in your mind? We can prepare a basic example for you so you can modify it according to your needs. What do you think?

                  Please, note that the Raspberry Pi is not the best piece of HW for challenging tasks and short communication periods 😉

                  Cheers,
                  Tomas

                    Hi Tomáš, these are just some 'Chinese' IO modules which do work just fine with Codesys running on a Raspberry Pi 4. However it would be nice that I would be able to use them with Rexygen as I feel more comfortable programming in Rexygen Studio and I like the way an HMI can be created inside Inkscape.
                    If you could provide me a basic example then I can give it a try.

                    Attached are two xml files.

                    Ethercat_xml.zip

                    EV3200D = 32 digital Inputs
                    EtherCATBusIO = 16 DI / 16 DO / 2AO / 2AI / 2 PWMout / 1 encoder input / 2 counter input / 1 Modbus RTU

                      @Scoobsalamander Hi Kris,
                      I am sending the promised example from our developers: ethercat_basic_example.zip. A readme file with a brief description is included. Please let us know if anything is unclear.

                      Cheers,
                      Jan

                        @Jan-Reitinger Hi Ja, thank you very much, I'll give it a try one of these days. When I have some results I'll post the outcome here.
