    • RE: Custom display component

      @cechurat

      Hello Tomas,

After read and read again the first lines of the procedures,
Unfortunately, I cannot arrive to register my component.

If we take your "procedure note", in the exemple 0301-12,

I would like to register my gauge,
In first step I select my circle and needle as group of component.

An error flag appear with this message :

      Issue flag.png

Does it mean I need a background square for my component ?

In the procedure, at line 11, "check external file and close the dialog with ok
Does it mean in group animation window : Ticking "import content of the group from external file"

If yes, I have some troubles with "import content", meaning for me we not export the selection, but rather the reverse.

I tried to redesign the component on a blank page with a square as a background with the circle and the needle, and repeat the procedure.
      And tick external file square.

In the procedure, at line 15, "open the extenal file and had some content"

When we tick this case and close the group box by ok, it register the component automaticly ?

      But where ?

I try have a standalone component which could use on any independant project.

Does I need to apply rather the procedure for a custom button explained at the top of the forum ?

      Can you help me

      Thanks

      @cechurat

      Hello Tomas,

Thanks in advance for the trick !

My gauge start to look like the real one,
With little bit difference like the color.

I had fews setting with the starting angle, but with the bracket keys trick, it work so good !

Thanks a lot for help !

Now I have to reproduce it with the real colors and other parameters like circle colors change.

Does it be possible to save this animation group as a custom component ?
Or does I need to rebuilt it at everytime I require it ?

Thanks again a lot Tomas !

      @cechurat

      Hello Cechurat,

      Quite good thing !

First I could realize an analog control from HMI panel,
And effectively, I succeeded to control line iron of my proper gauge.

      But, in my particular case,

I would like to control the pivotation of the needle, with it end fixed on the center of the circle, like an watch clock needle.

My actualy problem, is that the needle turn completly, like it center point is on the center of the line of needle.

How could I change this pivot point ?
Or let the one end fixed on a desired point ?

I think you understood what I try to explain, but have a look on my picture :

At 0 needle is not pivotate around the circle
At 20 needle, normaly must pivotate at 20% around the circle, but here, you can see, needle turn around itself.

      Not my desired search...

      Thanks

      @cechurat

      Hello, Cechurat,

First of all, i send you my apologies for this very late reply.

Before responding to you, I would like to understand how can I realize this component.

First of all, I readed the script tutorial in this previous forum :
      https://www.rexcontrols.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=180#p180

And try to start from the first exemple #4, in case to understood the principe of realisation.

      But, start one thing :

      This tutorial, start by :

Open a blank document in inskape (Without "RexHmi Config object")

Does i need to install a generic version of Inskape, a no Rex version ?

Does it couldn't risk to detect the rex version, and froze if I install this generic version into my computer ?

      Second thing,

At step 12, Mr Sobota, said, add the ns0:tag

Ok, but how could do it ?

I try to compare with issues found on forum, but with a certain clearly differences.

Does it this tutorial I have to see step by step ?
Or does I completly not in the correct way ?

      Thanks any help

      Hello,

You described a process for custom switch component.

But, is it applicable for custom displays as gauges or specific links lines ?

Here is a gauge I would like to realise,

The rounded arc, could change color, with a variable value, and the center iron turn auround the arc with a specific angle.

The center Iron could change color too.

For exemple for a speed gauge.

      Many thanks any replies

      @Jan-Reitinger

      Hello, Jan,

      First of all,
All my apologies, for my very late replying.

After, reading and re-reading of documentation, in particular the "appendix A of Graphical HMI, with Rexygen Designer"

I came back to my house, and I rebuild completly my system task.
And tryed some tricks, to find my miscelanous issues.

First of all, I renamed my HMI saved file (in my case) "Ecam_DC.svg", by "e.g.designer.hmi".

A note described on the chapter, explain :

"If you want to replace the WeBuDi interface with Rexygen HMI designer interface just delete the index.hmi.js and save the HMI as index.hmi.svg"

At this point, I didn't know if I have to put a virgin note noted "index.hmi.svg"

So I decided, to not put anything.
None notes in the hmisrc file.
      Neither "index.hmi.svg", neither "index.hmi.js"

I realized a task with a time generator connected to a display, and configurate the Aliase corresponding to the display in my HMI design.

After some settings, my display run correctly in the page.
Seconds simulate Volts (with no decimals).

On picture it is frozen, but with running program the display (BAT 1 voltage), count every second.

After that it could be interesting to show or not the green bars, but I will see after.

Cause in the real use of ELEC DC system, if system is not present, barrs are not visibles.

You can check the picture below

I could try next a little project, with a simple control, sliding or push button, and see if working.

If it will be succefful, I do not think with not pass to licence mode ...

When I spoke (written), etablishing a UART link between the target and a local host (in occurence one Arduino board), It's at the absolutely end of the project.
I just responded to your question with sensoring values.

Before do that I have to mastering a "little bit more" the using of Rexygen.
At this time, I am just a little newbie, not again a master Jedi of Rexygen...

At this point, I have always not understood, the useful of the notes explained in the documentation.

      Particularly this one

"If you want to replace the WeBuDi interface with Rexygen HMI designer interface just delete the index.hmi.js and save the HMI as index.hmi.svg"

      Thanks for your great patience

      @Tourneur

      Effectively,

I would like to display values from sensors, but throught an Arduino interface which communicate to the Raspberry Pi board, with a serial bus (RS232).

But at this point I start to etablish analogue link between my task and my design, which is not yet accomplished.

      @Jan-Reitinger

      Hello Jan,

... I understood, that Rexygen Studio, is a functional program, comprising an executable program, and a task program running together.

Without HMI designer, it's like a simple (advanced) PLC.

With HMI designer, operator can interact visualy with the PLC, or simply show somes values from the PLC, in my case, a Raspberry Pi.

In HMI Designer, I have to connect "aliases" objects with my task program in Rexygen Studio, as "connnectors strings".

I think, I not commit error at this point of comprehension...

At chapiter 4.3 (adding a user interface),

I start ,effectively to play in another world, with the creation of "hmisc" subfolder and the "index.hmi.js" file.

If I not commit error, this "index.hmi.js" file, is necessary to etablish a connection between my task and the "aliases", and my visualisation in HMI designer.

This "index.hmi.js", which is, if I correctly understood, is the "script link" between my visualisation in HMI designer and my program Task.

Without it, I cannot etablish link between my task in Rexygen studio and my design in Inkscapte (cause we work with Inkscape).

But If I am not correctly understood real use of this "index.hmi.js", file, wich have a totally another useful, effectively I comited a big stupid thing in sending this query, in the forum.

      Hello,Capture d'écran 2024-05-16 233301.png

For sure, JavaScript, is truely not my tea cup...
And yes, I am tried to creating visualisation in HMI Designer.

And to respond to you query "Why I choose this type of visualisation"
If you know another way, to control the objects in Inkscape, via an I/O interface, I am interested...

In occurence "x.xx" must be a voltage value on my display, which I would displaying from Raspberry pi.

And i am actually frozen by this script, constitution since 2 days...
Where many people do this in few minutes...

I just require basic help with the constitution of a standard scripts to built, without objects.

If I arrive to built my proper connexion between my visualisation and my target, with input and output, of course I will purchase a license, for sure.
But If I cannot do it by myself, logicaly I will return where a different system, less complex, with a lot of frustrations ...

      Hello,

      Absolutely a nightmare script !

I thinked, outpass theses type of programming nightmare...

Rexygen noticed programming "without hand coding".

      ...It's absolutely false.

I don't know by what starting with this script, and don't know if I could arrive to realize any functional script.

I fall from hight with that ...

I could revise clearly my future licence purchasing...

If exist easiest way to realize this script with an existing one, I 'am open...

    • Realize my own "index.hmi.js" file, for my own application

      Hello,

      I am sorry, but...

How we can realize our own "index.hmi.js" file ?

Up to now, I used an example one described in the documentation, "my-project"

And copy/paste the example in a note file.

This subfolder, was proprietary of "my_project".

      But now,

I start a personal project, but with it own "index.hmi.js" file.

I searched in documentation, without finding any explaintion for writting our proper "index.hmi.js"

Without this configuration file, I cannot starting anything

How can I constitute this script ?

      Thanks you

I am very sorry for my very late reply

I am effectively, in free mode, but run to licence mode.
Before, I just would like to be sure capable to realize a project out of tutorial.

This project is a test of my possibility.

In all the ways, I will need to put the page in full ldisplay view, and if it I can set it into Kiosk mode, it is a good thing, to know.

      Which consist the modification ?

Modifiy codes lines in certain sheets of embedded Rex engine ?

      @Jan-Reitinger

      hello Jan,

      Thanks in advance the reply,

That logo appear during build in HMI Designer, not put me any problem.

But not during active visualisation, and I am pretty surprised by you comment saying, that will not appear during visualisation.

Because, I done tutorial with some button and display, I compiled and load to my target, and in web page, the logo was present.

Only thing I would like to have this type of picture add with my post.

You understood, that, why I don't want any borders and logos around

I you know how to do, without manipulate logo, I could be interested.

I don't know, if in Kiosk mode, we can define a particular size of displaying or, automatically put your entire web page.
Or exist a possibility with Rexygen, to swap the page into full size of the display, without any borders and logo or tags.

Like a vidéo, switched into full display.

    • Deleting Rexygen logo

      Hello,

I started a project, of an ECAM monitor.

For good realism, at starting of OS, in particular RASPBIAN on my Raspberry pi 2, I think better solution is to switch into KIOSK mode, after boot up.

I would like use a 8" screen (with HDMI port source), as a ECAM display monitor.

      But, My question is :

Does Logo of Rexygen, could appear in the screen, because that not searched objective, for the realism ?

In HMI designer, I can desactivate some layers as background, but even I cannot acces to the logo, for delete it.

Does it an obligation to have it in our own applications ?

      @Tourneur

      Hello,

All my apologies for this very late replying, and status of my advancement.

Unfortunately, I left completely the idea of using simulation without real target connected.

I tryed to compare the use of Rexygen with Profilab Expert, which is for me a really, and really compfortable software.
Particularly, when you are not familiary with all the complexity of programming environnement.

But yes, now, I see it's completly different, and I must re-see all my vision of Rexygen.

I finally decided to use a real target, and follow the tutorial in the documentation.

I arrived to put in place an interactive comunication with the target and my ethernet devices.

You understand lot of thing when system running, for example, i won't understood the machine interface is a web page.

Now I could, thing a little bit deeper in the working of the rexstudio.
Particularly, with Nextape, for a particular project.
I will put my question in HMI topic.

Thanks a lot for the quick replie, of my question

And maxi apologies for my very late replie !

      Ok, if I understood correctly,

      First of all,

I insall a virtual machine wich receive the same system of (in my case) Raspberry Pi.

      After that,

I install Rex Core, inside with the same parameter used for a Raspberry Pi.

      If everything is ok,

I etablish the virtual link, by the IP adress given in you replie.

Every virtual machine can be used, or only SimDrv ?
I have Virtual box installed in my system, and seen that support linux and Debian.

But one question, if I understood correctly, ther is no way to test a project without target connected ?

If I would like to test my project step by step, see the correct evolution, and check the HMI design, my target is alway connected ?

There is no possibility to simulate the project without the target connected ?
      Like a virtual connection ?

Even for a little parameter modification ?
